Rocky Mountain Therapy Services/West Valley City has been providing services in West Valley City since 1983 and in this location with Granger Medical Clinic since 1999. We work with the physicians in our community as well as those throughout the Wasatch front. Through our relationship with physicians, we are able to provide a quality outcome and patient education focus to clients.
Rocky Mountain Therapy Services has been a provider of comprehensive and state of the art Sports Medicine services in the West Valley and surrounding areas for more than 20 years. We provide Athletic Training services to local high school, college, and professional teams. Our efforts extend to the community sports clubs as well. RMTS is committed to excellence in the delivery of our services including injury assessment and treatment, rehabilitation, orthopedic access, consultation and education.
We are currently working with various local High Schools. We have provided medical care for the Utah Grizzlies hockey team since their arrival in 1995 and cared for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles until they were relocated out of state. Kearns Rugby and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association also utilize our expertise. We are continually providing our support to many soccer tournaments, races, and other community athletic events. We have worked with Salt Lake Community College in providing medical care for all the athletes which included a full time onsite Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist for rehabilitation, and physician for game coverage.
Our staff continues to look for opportunities to serve the community in which we reside. In short, RMTS is fully committed to providing local athletes the absolute best, most comprehensive and convenient medical care available.

Gerald (Jerry) Geurts, - PT, ATC Clinic Director
Jerry began his career with RMTS in 1991 and is the Director of the Granger Medical (STAR) Clinic. As a valued leader and partner in RMTS, He has earned the respect of physicians and his fellow colleagues. His expertise qualified him to serve as the team therapist for sports teams like the Utah Grizzlies and Blaze. In 2002, during the Salt Lake Winter Olympics, Jerry achieved one of his unique career aspirations by becoming the 2002 Olympic Hockey Venue Medical Supervisor. Jerry and his wife Kim have four daughters. He loves to hike, golf and enjoy the outdoors with his family and friends
Rick Wortley - PT, MBA Physical Therapist
Rick graduated from the University of Utah in 1987 and has been working as an outpatient orthopedic therapist for 25 years. He is currently enrolled with A.T. Still University, working on his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. In his free time he likes to hike and is trying to get to the highest point of each county in Utah. He also likes to spend time with his family water skiing and golfing. He is not a believer in the "no pain no gain" theory. He believes that it is better to make gains without increasing pain when possible.
Keith Ludwig - MPT Therapist
Keith began working for RMTS in 1994 after earning a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. Keith is a sports fan but also actively participates as well having engaged in Triathlons as a source of excitement. Keith and his wife have two children and enjoy family outings.
Anika Jansen - PT, DPT Therapist
Anika grew up and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Charleston, South Carolina to attain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. As a student, she interned for RMTS at the STAR clinic, and has returned to the Salt Lake area after schooling to work. In addition to orthopedics, she has an increased interest for treating patients with vestibular, balance, and concussion diagnoses.
Anika loves Utah for the winter skiing and summer hiking, biking, and paddle boarding. She loves spending time in the outdoors, traveling, and is a devoted San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors fan
Shelly Head - ATC-L Athletic Trainer
Shelly started with RMTS in the summer of 2003. She is a native Utahan born in Sandy UT. Graduated Jordan High in 1995 attended school at Dixie College and finished at the University of Utah where she received her ATC-L. She loves to read and enjoys movies especially the fantasy genre.
Cherine Brydson Office Manager
Cherine has been with RMTS for 12 years. She started as an aide and is now the office manager. Cherine is the first person that each patient interacts with as they start their therapy. She is a proud mother of a daughter who is in college. She enjoys the outdoors, boating and is an avid walker
Penie Velis Office
Penie started with RMTS five years ago. She also is one of the first to help get patients registered and started on their therapy. Penie has two children. Her daughter was married this summer and just started Nursing school in Boise. Her son just began his second year at Weber State University. She Loves to spend time with her family and traveling to Idaho to visit her daughter and son-in-law. Penie is active and likes to run and walk and play with her new great niece.
