Head and Cervical Pain

Chronic Tension Headaches and Cervical Pain are frequently treated with medications and injections, without a determination of the cause. These physical complaints may be the result of stress, diet, hormonal changes, slips and falls, and auto accidents. At Rocky Mountain Therapy Services, our Head and Neck Pain Program begins treatment with a thorough assessment of the person's medical history and lifestyle to determine the root of the pain. As the cause is determined, education is incorporated on how to interrupt the pain cycle. At the same time, a combination of treatment modalities is utilized to reduce muscle tension and increase strength and flexibility. This may include myofacial release, icing, spinal mobilization, cervical traction, massage, relaxation training, and pool therapy.

Because Rocky Mountain Therapy Services is committed to sustained results, responsibility is placed on the patient during the program for utilization and follow through of their program, at home, work, and in the clinic.

 Common Diagnoses Treated include:

  • Chronic tension headaches
  • Occipital Neuritis
  • Cervico-genic headaches
  • Mixed Migraine
  • Auto related whiplash
